It has been one year and three months since I have been serving in Georgia. When I first submitted my application for the Peace Corps (PC), I wasn't sure which country I wanted to go, all I know that I wanted to serve in the Peace Corps. After browsing for potential states, and still could it rescue? I sent a general application, which allows the PC to send volunteers to countries that need it the most.
-September 11, 2017- I was matched with a country, and my application was being reviewed for English Language Co-Teacher and Youth Educator position in Georgia.
-I got an interviewed on September 25, 2017.
-October 17, 2017, I was selected to serve as a Peace Corps Volunteer.
-January 5, 2018, I received medical and dental clearance for Peace Corps Volunteer service.
- March 9, 2018, I received my legal clearance.
- January 5, 2018 - Depart Monday, 16, 2018
Why Peace Corps: This quotes by Mahatma Gandhi says it all for me " the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others." As an artist, I am always on the path to self-discovery. Every design I make requires me to do tones of research and delve into the character and the world of the play. Living in Georgia with a host family has helped study the culture in more in-depth than I could have.
First off, Georgia is a beautiful country with huge mountains competing who can be the tallest. The country is full of natural springs and lakes and I love it. I will be updating about my projects soon.
