MFON-ABASI OBONG

The play is a 1979 musical thriller set in 19th century England. It details the return of barber Sweeney Todd to London after 15 years in exile to take revenge on the corrupt judge who banished him, by conspiring with a local baker, Mrs. Lovett, who is in desperate need of fresh meat for her pies. The play exhibits obsession, corruption, and class struggle.  My design inspiration comes from researching the Victorian era, using real paintings that depict real people living their everyday lives. The rendering is done in collage because the story is about revenge, demonstrating the journey of something that started with justice but ends up with an obsession for revenge.
